Fancy Nancy at the Ballet

Another field trip with Eleina and Meghan. What will Brooke do without her best buddies when we move? I am just praying that she makes some wonderful little friends in Columbus, however, no one could replace these two. So the girls got dressed up and we took them to see Fancy Nancy at the Ballet. Fancy Nancy is Brooke's favorite book character and she loved the performance. I was a little sick that day as soon as the lights dimmed I had a nice little nap. It made for an interesting bedtime conversation that night as Brooke wanted to discuss certain parts in the performance. "Well, Brooke, Mommy wasn't quite awake for that part but you can tell me all about it!"

Luke's Birthday

Well our Luke turned nine On March 7th. He started the morning with what my children have chosen for every birthday since age two - DONUTS! He had his party at Laser Quest and he insisted I play. I had never played before and I will have to say it was a blast!!! My boys had little faith in me that I would do well, but I did indeed prove them wrong! He also did something this year that made me proud. In lieu of birthday gifts he asked that his guests bring donations of gift cards to go to a family whose son has cancer. Even though it was my idea, Luke jumped at the mention of it and was genuinely happy to do it and felt so good about it. He chose to celebrate his birthday dinner at Wasabi which is a Japanese restaurant where they cook in front of you. He and Andrew had been there before and loved it. Anyone who knows me knows that Asian cuisine is at the bottom of my list of places I like to dine out. Wasabi did not change that sentiment, even though it was a fun place to be together.

We had a snow day on Friday so decided to go skiing on Saturday. The kids have been very inspired by the Olympics. It snowed most of the day so the snow was great. We had a blast being together and planning a big trip to Colorado someday.
