Mentor Triathlon

The boys had a GREAT time competing in their first triathlon. It was a 100 meter swim in Lake Erie, 3 mile bike, and a half mile run. They did awesome and can't wait until the next one. I just wanted them to have fun and enjoy themselves, which they did. Matt and I were so happy for them. The other boy with them is Akash, who is one of their good friends in the nieghborhood.

Innsbrook with my family

I can't believe that it took us so many years to get back to my parents lakehouse at Innsbrook. The kids loved being there and can't wait to go back. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We were all constantly entertained by my two year old niece, Anneke. I forget how funny they are at that age. She is quite hilarious and had us singing Elmo songs all the way back home. Thanks Anneke! In addition to hanging out with my parents, Lauren, Johan, and Anneke, we made good friends with the ticks and chiggers! The highlight for me (maybe not for Matt or Johan!) was swimming the lake again once I got over my fear of the Leviathan that lives in it. It felt great to do that after all these years. Thanks Mom and Dad for the great time!

St. Louis with Matt's family

We had a great time in St. Louis with Matt's family on the farm. Macy loved roaming free and I actually felt guilty having to bring her back to the suburbs. The highlights for the kids were spending time with the cousins and rest of the family, riding in the Rhino, and going to a Cardinals baseball game. I loved seeing all of the babies (they will be one in August). I had fun mastering the art of feeding the twins at the same time. They were all so cute that I wanted to bring them home with me. I don't think the parents would have minded either!

4th of July in Michigan

We went to Michigan with the Chapman-Smiths for the 4th of July. They have an old fashioned candy shop in their house that the kids visited each day at 5:00. When we got home our kids immediately set one up in the basement. I bought the candy for it but still got charged. HMMMM?? The water was COLD but we had a good time hanging out and watching the best homemade fireworks show ever. We loved the beautiful sunset and watching the kids run around in a pack.

Andrew at Camp Carl

Andrew went to an all boys overnight camp for one week this summer. It was hard for me to let him go but he LOVED every minute. He is still talking about it. Luke can't wait to join him next year. Brooke was thouroughly disgusted by the bathrooms in Andrew's cabin and this experience alone might prohibit her from ever going to camp unless I can convince her that the girls bathroom might be a little cleaner!

Last day of school and baseball

Luke was so sad on the last day of school believe it or not. He LOVED his teacher and second grade. Here he is looking very melancholy by his desk for the last time. Pretty pathetic!

The boys were on separate baseball teams this year which made for a LOT of baseball games. For some reason I have no pictures of Andrew - sorry buddy! You would think out of twelve games I would have gotten a picture or two! Here is Luke . Both the boys love Albert Pujols and Luke was disappointed to have to play for the Tigers this year instead of the Cardinals.
